Finding my style
So, now it's time to find what products would work well in my hair. I was at a total lost, because I knew nothing about taking of natural hair and truefully, I thought it would be harder. Lazy, I know....but I kept thinking about how my Mom use to fight to keep my hair under control when I was a kid and honestly, I didn't want to have to deal with that. To my surprise....I found that I have curly hair. Not like my daughter, who has a beautiful natural grade of hair....mine was curly, but alot more coarse....It isn't loose or free flowing like my daugther's...just more stiff...
So between advice from my cousin, who had been natural for about 5 yrs and my own research, I started testing out a couple avenues....Carol's Daughter's products and Miss Jessies. My cousin really hinted to Miss Jessies.....so, I did my research, found a solan that carried both CD and MJ. I tried CD first, and had some disappointing results with some of the products. The leave in conditioner for one and the Hair balm can been gummy if you use it too much. (At least in my hair....)
I was finding that I like the wash and wear look and CD wasn't holding my curls like I wanted. That's when I started looking at MJs a little more. I finally tried the buttercreme......which is a great product, but it was too heavy for my hair. It didn't hold the curls like I wanted and is very greasy. But still used it for a while.......When I went to restock my hair supply, I finally ask some questions.....and I so glad I did. Per the hair stylist recommendation, I bought the Curly Pudding and it gave me EXACTLY the look I wanted and it held my curls wonderfully.
So, pairing the Curly Pudding with CD's shampoo and conditioner....my hair was on it's way to defining "MY STYLE".
